Description

Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
Robot welding including the following:
Operation of robotic welder, understanding program sequencing, finished work dimensions, numerical control
Calculate machine speed, feed ratios, size and position of cuts
Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols)
Inspect welds for accuracy & quality
Basic mechanical knowledge and use of hand tools, following instructions, and welding products
Remove finished material to change tooling, setup, or material placement, according to required machining sequences
Familiarize with machine during operation to detect sounds indicating dull cutting tools or excessive vibration
Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions
Operator is responsible for any re-work or corrections necessary to ensure product meets specifications
Load and unload material manually and using hoists or cranes
Check to ensure that material is properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation
Quality check finished product to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, & fixtures
Clean machines, tooling, and parts, using solvents
Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and material on the machine, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Maintain machines and remove and replace broken or worn machine tools, using hand tools.
Performs manual welding during robot weld cycle
Prepare future jobs while robot is operating to minimize robot down time
Must be willing to work extended hours or shifts as requested
Will be required to cross-train as back-up in other areas of manufacturing plant
Required to have proper and accurate entry into the time and attendance system
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High school diploma, certificate in welding preferred
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a robotic welder
· Candidates must pass basic MIG welding test
· Basic math and computer skills
· Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to follow precise instructions and ability to read blueprints
· Working knowledge of measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, protractors and tape measure

· Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle and feel objects, tools, or control
· Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl
· Regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds (25), and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds

· Daily exposure to hot, cold, dusty, noisy environment
· Occasional to frequent outdoor work
· Potential to work at different area workstations to meet production needs
