Position: Learning and Development Manager

Location: Lenexa, KS

Learning and Development Manager

The Learning and Development Manager will lead the effort in assessing, designing, developing, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating learning programs that support employee and leadership development. This position will be responsible for a robust learning strategy based on adult learning principles and hybrid delivery methods (ILT, eLearning, Blended) meeting the needs of employees and leadership supporting the company and each affiliates customizable needs.

Essential Functions

  • Partner with stakeholders to implement learning programs for employee and leadership development.
  • Leverage adult learning principles to design and develop training using the Addie model for course development.
  • Conduct needs assessments and customize training programs for company and affiliate needs.
  • Utilize hybrid learning strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and geographical dispersion.
  • Oversee ILT program delivery, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training, gather feedback, and make adjustments to ensure training outcomes.
  • Maintain capacity planning for development and delivery of training content.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance and introduce relevant content that supports employee growth and development.
  • Effectively manage the learning and development budget.
  • Contribute to succession planning through individual development plans, 360 reviews and assessment administration.
  • Lead and support learning and development staff, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Ensure training programs comply with relevant regulations and legal requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 8+ years experience in instructional design preferred.
  • 5+ years leadership development training experience preferred.
  • 3+ years hybrid learning development preferred.
  • Management and coaching experience preferred.
  • Experience working with professional services, engineering or construction is a plus.
  • Strong consulting skills with a client-focused mind-set; building valuable relationships based on trust, respect, and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles to ensure effective learning programs.
  • Experience with the ADDIE model of instructional design.
  • Experience with competency-based learning and assessment.
  • Experience using Predictive Index in team building and individual development preferred.
  • Situational Leadership knowledge and applied experience preferred.
  • Experience using graphic design tools and eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate (Rise 360)
  • Experience using a Learning Management System platform.

Travel:

  • May require occasional overnight travel to regional offices (10%)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs
  • Frequent sitting, viewing computer screen for periods of time (stand-up desk provided)
