Leprino Foods Quality Leader in Lemoore (West), California

Within our flagship Lemoore West manufacturing facility located in Lemoore, California Leprino is seeking a Quality Leader to continue moving our organization forward. We take pride in our vision to be worlds best, its why we work harder, invest more, and continually innovate.

At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $84,000 and $101,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 10%.

  • Establishes himself/herself as the go to quality resource for daily decision making.

  • The Quality Leader manages pest control and sanitation systems, including recordkeeping, SSOPs, Master Sanitation Schedules, CIP effectiveness, and chemical safety.

  • Advises resources to take ownership of their day to day: including testing, microbiology, environmental monitoring, sanitation/sanitary design, risk assessments and all quality related programs and systems.

  • Supports production division management to troubleshoot plant quality execution deficiencies, working with technical resources (Technical Services, Quality Assurance, R&D and Product Development) and plant management to identify root cause and eliminate recurring quality problems.

  • Helps to ensure plant level preparedness for customer and regulatory inspections. Coordinates all customer and regulatory audits and follow-up activities including Corrective and Preventative Actions.

  • Coordinates with Corporate Quality Assurance to assure proper follow up on all customer and regulatory issues (complaints, audits, and requests for information).

  • Help to drive the plant Environmental activities and operates as the local subject matter expert on microbiological issues.

  • Operates as a local subject matter reference in applicable sanitation, audits, and environment policies, programs and systems.

  • Helps to lead, teach, and inspire passion in all plant employees for product quality, food safety, and plant housekeeping.

  • Motivates the plant exempt and non-exempt workforce to assume ownership of all areas of the sanitation and audit systems.

  • Assists in driving core people development processes (hiring and promoting for success, technical/functional training, leadership development, and performance management) within the sanitation, audit, and environmental functions.

    You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):

  • College Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing environment, additional education may substitute experience where applicable

  • Proficient computer knowledge, with familiarity or ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing computer systems

  • Knowledge of and passion for quality methods and techniques, including HACCP concept for food safety, quality assurance standards, food laboratory testing methods and operations, and statistical process control techniques.

    We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Technical background in food technology, food science, dairy science, microbiology, or chemistry

  • Dairy/Cheese manufacturing experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities/Competencies:

  • Technical knowledge of cheese making process and equipment

  • Technical knowledge of microbiology and sanitation practices

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

  • Effective communication skills

  • Effective people management skills
