Naval Air Systems Command QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in Lemoore Naval Air Station, California

Summary You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Industrial Quality Department of MRO F/A-18 Production Department of FLEET READINESS CENTER WEST located at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California. Responsibilities You will participate in engineering and quality investigations of equipment/systems to ensure quality assurance standards are met. You will interpret and apply product specifications and other technical data to make necessary revisions to quality checklist. You will report adverse trends and deviations from normal manufacturing performance and/or product conformance and quality. You will read and interpret contracts, blueprints, work orders, instructions, technical manuals, and other technical material to complete quality assurance inspections. You will maintain records/reports of deficiencies and prepare technical reports. You will be required to have regular and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of this position. You will do all other tasks/duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-1910-11, Quality Assurance Specialist: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Applying quality assurance methods, principles, and practices to develop quality assurance plans and processes for an established aviation program; 2) Identifying and administering quality assurance testing and evaluation requirements; 3) Conducting contract review of quality requirements during contract development; 4) Developing and presenting formal and on the job training instructional material to newly hired and existing Quality Assurance Specialist; and 5) Determining corrective action needed for continuous improvement in cost, schedule, and quality standards for assigned aviation program. For the GS-1910-09, Quality Assurance Specialist: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Applying quality assurance methods, principles, and practices to develop quality assurance plans and processes for an established aviation program; 2) Identifying and administering quality assurance testing and evaluation requirements; 3) Conducting contract review of quality requirements during contract development; 4) Establishing and maintaining constructive lines of oral and written communications; 5) Administering, conducting, planning and scheduling quality audits to ensure a thorough physical and operational evaluation of aircraft products.
