YOUR TEAM

All our Engineers take on project responsibility from the outset invariably owning their own projects from the very outset and at all stages through to construction. Your role will be at the heart of our high performing team, using your skills and expertise to help us continue driving forward in terms of both technical quality and service efficiency.

  • Own and lead the design process, encouraging your and wider teams to deliver the right solutions to the agreed programme and support those less experienced by technical review, mentoring and advice.

  • Managing projects to ensure coordination of multi-disciplinary inputs.

  • Managing resources effectively (including remote resource) and efficiently to meet fluctuating workloads.

  • Working with clients and design teams to deliver compliant designs on time and within budget and meeting H&S, CDM, QA and technical review requirements.

  • Participating in tender bids and business development opportunities as they arise.

  • Developing relationships with other WSP teams to utilise additional resources as required.

  • Agreeing fees and managing the commercial position on projects.

  • Attending site to gather information and supervise schemes.

  • Chartered (ICE or IStructE).

  • Recent, demonstrable experience in conducting design and assessment of highway structures in various materials using Eurocodes and the DMRB.

  • Experience in undertaking feasibility studies, design, maintenance, and supervision of bridge related projects.

  • Experience in project and resource management with good financial and commercial awareness.

  • Experience of leading Inspections of Highway Structures.

  • Experience of management and design of Highway Structures maintenance projects.

  • Knowledge of highway construction and delivery methods.

  • Knowledge of construction contracts and experience of preparation of contract documents

  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management 2015 and associated duties.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards, methods of working & Specification for Highway Works.

  • Team and Line Management experience.

  • Experience in project and resource management with good financial and commercial awareness.

Desirable:

  • A working knowledge of contract documents and in particular NEC3/4.

  • Knowledge on the application of 3D design packages.

  • Sound knowledge of CAD.

  • Client and customer-facing experience.
