Our Property and Buildings business includes Structure, Services and Specialists.

You will be part of a small commercial team within Property and Buildings, working closely with Legal, Finance and key stakeholders.

As a member of the P&B Commercial Team, you will work with the Legal, Bid Modelling, Operations, and project teams to provide advice and support on: -

Liaise with the Legal, Tax, E&C Team and ensure that proposed contractual arrangements are reviewed, risks identified/ mitigated and further legal advice sought if required

Provide support to Bid Leaders in contract negotiations

Ensure that sub-consultancy and collaboration agreements are in place for WSP appointments and the supply chain

Ensure bids are properly reviewed in line with governance requirements

Review and drafting of Contractual documents such as NDA, MOU, Teaming Agreements, Agreements etc.

Co-ordinate the drafting of sub-consultancy agreements (ensuring back-to-back and apportioning risk)

Facilitate and chair SBU weekly governance meetings thru management of the prospect pipeline in line with the UK and Global Delegations of authority (T404)

Support and facilitation of contract handovers including development and briefing to project Directors on contract management plans for strategic wins

Participate in project review and offer ad-hoc advice on contractual/commercial matters

Provide input to the Discipline’s risk and opportunity register when required supporting in particular on large fee claims, large working capital recovery to mitigating disputes before they arise.

Client and supply chain insolvency, administration, and any other financial distress

Ad- Hoc material change management (Deeds of Variation) in compliance with the contractual and business needs: Liaising with Contract/Project Directors (risk reduction meetings)

Understanding insurance policies and authorities and how this impacts our contractual positions

Annual renewals of insurance certificate & policies

Raise commercial awareness and performance in the Discipline through regular feedback, meetings and providing training.

Review and implement improvements to processes and systems.

Experienced in preparation and commercial support to tendering activities for large contracts

Must be able to obtain UK vetting level of Security Check (SC)

Experience of working closely with legal teams to provide successful governance of all commercial and legal aspects of the contract life cycle

Strong understanding of public sector Frameworks and their operations

Change management - expertise across the main industry forms including NEC PCS 3 and 4, FIDIC, JCT

Strong project management, organisational and investigative skills; Ability to simplify complex concepts

Drafting of contractual correspondence

Chairing commercial meetings with clients / contractors

Pro-active engagement in risk identification, evaluation and mitigation activity

Qualifications and Work Experience

Degree qualified and/or Membership of a relevant professional body is preferable (MICE/ MCIPS MRICS/MCIOB/)

Significant relevant experience within a similar role

Experience in public sector contracts in the UK preferred including Public Sector Procurement regulations (PCR15)

Experienced in the use of standard forms of contract

Excellent communication skills
