Federal Signal Corporation Paint Shop Technician - PAINT004996-00001 in Leeds, Alabama

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
  • Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
  • Masks or covers parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  • Load/Unload trucks
  • Blast Parts, sand parts and hang parts
  • Wash Truck/Parts
  • Fills cavities and/or dents to attain smooth surface.
  • Mixes paint according to specifications.
  • Mixes coating to produce desired color.
  • Inspects painted units for quality.
  • Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Obtain necessary materials needed for shipping or stocking.
  • Read and follow internal and external order sheets.
  • Empty chip and scrap buckets into correct receptacle.
  • Use appropriate software system to verify status of inventory.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

Requirements:

  • Able to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass Fork Lift Certification process.
  • Possess basic computer operating and data entry skills.
