Responsible for administering and directing appropriate nursing interventions as prescribed by a qualified physician or mid-level practitioner. Department Summary:

Our department encompasses several specialty areas including Pre-Admission Testing, Infusion Center, Endoscopy, Same Day Surgery, and Operating Room.

The environment on our units is friendly, patient-centered, and collaborative with other members of the interdisciplinary team.

Our staff’s success is due to their commitment to our patients and the community. Our staff have extensive knowledge and expertise; we deliver compassionate care.

We orient new team members to our unit by using preceptorship experience to provide each person a safe space for learning. In addition, we have a perioperative educator, Debbie Weston, RN, CNOR who assists our new hires in their journey of transitioning to a new role and career goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performing the initial nursing assessment, communicating findings with the assigned physician or mid-level

• Assessing the wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating the patient status in regards to desired outcomes

• Identifying patient care situations that require intervention

• Participates in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to the patient and/or caregiver, and serving as patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of care

• Collaborates as needed with other healthcare provides, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director and Medical Director regarding patient needs

• Performs other duties as required
