Dartmouth Health Senior Business Operations Analyst - Radiation Oncology, Part Time in Lebanon, New Hampshire
Overview
20 hours per week.
The Radiation Oncology department operates from 7:30am - 5:00pm and they are flexible with the work schedule for this position.
Manages the business operations of the Radiation Oncology program in coordination with Practice Manager and Director. Is responsible for ensuring compliance with requirements of federal grant and research studies by working with DH Grants Management to meet pre- and post-award deadlines. Evaluates existing budgeting practices of the Radiation Oncology program, offers recommendations for changes and improvement to maximize financial margins
Responsibilities
Monitor and reconcile account expenditures, irregularities, answer inquiries regarding usage and status of accounts; advise in usage and status of account; provide recommendations and implement corrective action.
Provide budget oversight, conduct analysis of financial information to assist with clinical trial and research budget preparation.
Analyze and prepare monthly statement reports; monitor/maintain record-keeping system to track all expenses and revenues. Assist in the development of financial proformas for financial planning.
Obtain and analyze statistical data for use in reports and presentations.
Analyze and conduct financials review of account statements and reports; verify trial account compliance with source of funding guidelines, etc.
Monitor/maintain account balances and reconcile differences between various account balances and external sources.
Respond to financial inquiries from key stakeholders.
Participate on assigned workgroups and committees charged with reviewing Clinical Trials and research administrative-level finances and practices; obtain and analyze information; provide recommendations; implement change as appropriate.
Work with DH Finance to prepare annual summaries and reports
Optimize program income by monitoring insurance reimbursements. Identify and make recommendations to department and finance as necessary.
Complete routine recurring account reconciliations.
Prepare and submit invoices for services rendered by Clinical Trials and Core Radiation Lab faculty and staff (i.e., protocol administration, data management and radiation user services); monitor outstanding accounts and routine account reporting.
Answer questions; obtain and input information; ensure information is current and accurate; prepare reports.
Assist Research Billing Compliance (RBC) office within the ORO with filtering and assigning patient expenses to insurance or industry sponsor in accordance with the budget and using EPIC and Oncore. Serve as liaison with the ORO Compliance office regarding clinical trial billing compliance issues.
Responsible for regular review and follow-up with accounting to ensure revenues and expenses are posted to correct cost centers and GL accounts.
Consult stakeholders and administrators on budget analysis and submissions with external financial support.
Analyze and negotiate clinical trials budgets with industry sponsors and/or consortiums and cooperative groups.
Serve as liaison to DH Counsel, accounting offices, faculty, staff, and industry representatives.
Prepare documentation; submit routing forms and obtain contract approvals as required; monitor and follow up as appropriate.
May contribute to implementation of policies and procedures. May perform external reporting requiring compliance with reporting standards.
May provide training and functional and/or administrative supervision of staff.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management, or related field with at least eight (8) years of relevant business or supervisory/management experience, preferably in a health care environment required.
Master’s degree in business administration or health administration or related clinical science field preferred.
Excellent organization, interpersonal, oral, and writing skills required.
Demonstrated leadership abilities.
Previous healthcare finance background preferred.
Knowledge of computerized information systems, graphing, and statistics.
Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and analytical.
Excellent networking and oral /written communication skills with the ability to relate and deal effectively with physicians, administrators, support staff, and the general public with tact and discretion
