Dartmouth Health Manager Central Sterile Reprocessing in Lebanon, New Hampshire

Overview

Manages personnel and processes required to support, integrate, and link the key functions of replenishment, inventory management, warehousing, and central sterile reprocessing operations. Improves all work systems and processes through a structured program, utilizing best practice principals, tools, and management routines designed to reduce waste, improve quality, and deliver value to internal customers and patients.

Responsibilities

  • Sterilizes instruments, delivers required materials, and develops department policies and regulatory standards. Provides cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization consulting and educational support for D-H.

  • Manages operating budget.

  • Manages and develops staff through human resource planning, hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

  • Manages and/or coordinates the planning, selection, acquisition, installation and calibration, maintenance, service and repair, troubleshooting, and final disposition of all departmental infrastructure to ensure reliable operations. Maintains redundancies to support critical operations.

  • Manages inventory for the main OR and Outpatient Surgery Center.

  • Manages the physical plant to include safe operations, security, fitness for purpose, and operating costs.

  • Documents, stabilizes, and controls all core operating processes required to effectively manage the SCM – Perioperative services department. Integrates core operating processes with other processes.

  • Improves all core operating processes to deliver required value to all customers while reducing waste and lowering cost. Creates corrective action routines based on agreed standardized problem solving methodologies that address processes that fall out of process control.

  • Creates a process improvement plan to drive required process performance improvements.

  • Ensures the efficient and effective operation of the SCM Perioperative Services organization by providing for training and education of all staff while leveraging and improving existing functionality. Develops an information management requirements plan based.

  • Ensures all activities and processes meet institutional standards and regulations. Provides leadership to the Patient Safety and Quality department regarding safe patient handling standards.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or equivalent with 5 years of combined experience in supervision and operations management or the equivalent required.

  • Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) preferred.

  • Previous experience in Continuous Process Improvement and Project Management is essential.

  • Demonstrated leadership and change management experience.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects desired.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills desired.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of software products such as Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Power Point, Word, Visio, etc. required.

  • Healthcare industry or medical device manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of PC based statistical analysis software preferred.

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • CSR Manager Certification preferred.
