DineEquity Supervisor, Accounts Payable in Leawood, Kansas

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the Accounts Payable team responsible for timely payment of all vendor invoices, including interviewing and hiring, providing employee feedback and coaching, handling conflict, conducting performance reviews and long-range career planning.

  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures to ensure adherence to company guidelines and SOX controls.

  • Implements new processes and procedures to support new company initiatives, new accounting pronouncements or company policy changes.

  • Responsible for assisting with the implementation and maintenance of financial software applications.

  • Subject matter expert related to PeopleSoft AP module and Imaging software.

  • Ensures adequate controls exist over the function.

  • Reviews applicable accounting reports and accounts payable registers to ensure accuracy.

  • Manages vendor relationships.

  • Collaborates with all departments throughout the organization.

  • Provides guidance and training, to all employee levels, on Accounts Payable related matters.

  • Reviews transactions performed by the team and acts as subject matter expert for questions and escalations.

  • Leads analysis, identifies issues and presents possible solutions and assists with special projects.

  • Proactive approach to understanding long term impact of business changes.

    Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in accounts payable or equivalent accounting experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of accounting concepts and principles, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as well as basic internal controls.

  • Advanced knowledge of Accounts Payable systems, preferably PeopleSoft and Imaging software.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills; ability to achieve results through others.

  • Strong communication, planning, organizational, analytical, and prioritizing skills.
