SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Segment Marketing & Communications (MarComm) Manager is responsible for the development, management, implementation and measurement of integrated strategic marketing plans to support the assigned AAFP customer/member segment as well as achieving desired product and program results. This includes defining marketing strategies and tactics that meet or exceed defined business goals and objectives. This position will report to the Director, Segment Marketing & Communications.

Specific aspects include:

  • Develop and deploy annual marketing plans inclusive of strategy, messaging, channel/tactical plans, performance tracking and budget management.

  • Collaborate with the Membership and other AAFP staff to establish a strong understanding of the designated member segment(s) to inform the development of integrated plans focused on recruitment, retention/conversion and engagement.

  • Manage the implementation of marketing plans, providing clear direction to Marketing partners, including creative and channel teams, that enables them to successfully execute against approved marketing plans.

  • Monitor and evaluate performance metrics to ensure marketing effectiveness and to optimize performance over campaign periods.

  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or other related field plus at least 10+ years of related work experience including creating annual plans, implementing/assessing those plans and proven history as an effective marketing strategist and cross-functional team leader. Must be able to plan, organize, and have a high level of detail orientation and follow through. Ability to ask meaningful questions and effectively probe to uncover/understand business needs and opportunities. Proven track record of turning insights into actionable plans. Ability to successfully influence at all levels of an organization and to make presentations to a multitude of audiences. Ability to ask meaningful questions and effectively probe to uncover/understand business needs and opportunities. Ability to work collaboratively across teams to successfully achieve results. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, analytical, and negotiation skills. Effective time management skills, problem solving abilities and the ability to multi-task. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with a CRM system is required, HubSpot is preferred. Account management experience is desirable. General knowledge of media buying/advertising sales is desirable.
