WBD has developed an innovative approach to UK workforce development in Film & TV production. Designed to support existing crew, create career pathways for people of all backgrounds, and foster the next generation of talent, CrewHQ is an on-site training centre with a dedicated team delivering below-the-line skills activity for WBD feature films and high-end TV across the UK.

The mission is to develop talent, retain crew and create a diverse, skilled workforce using our studio facility, support services and WBD productions to deliver a unique sustainable pathway.

Your New Role...

This is a newly created role that will bring together the environmental sustainability needs and vision of a busy studio facility, the practical needs of physical production and the development of a training and onboarding programme to support enable staff and production crews to achieve our environmental sustainability goals.

The post is based at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, five days a week and may involve regional and local travel.

Your Role Accountabilities ...

  • To be an onsite ambassador regarding all environmental practices, working in partnership and supporting all WB divisions based out of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden.

  • Working with Production Executives at Warner Bros Pictures to create a physical production policy and manual for all its productions made at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and where possible across the UK.

  • To develop a training program for sustainability coordinators and for production HoDs and ensure that this is embedded in the onboarding of all applicable productions and to monitor progress of the program through the life of the Production ensuring best practices are met and encourage their affiliation to BAFTA Albert.

  • To holistically review sources of emission out of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and seeing which areas can be improved upon to help reduce carbon emissions.

  • To work with key suppliers and WBD’s Strategic Sourcing Group to review supply chains to ensure they meet our sustainability expectations.

  • To support all WB divisions with their data gathering for annual reporting, including but not limited to the WBD ESG report, BAFTA Albert schemes for both Productions and Studios.

  • To engage with local councils and other stakeholders and coordinate activities that achieve and promote WBSL’s sustainability goals.

  • To work with internal stakeholders (CSR, comms, legal, HR, DEI), industry partners (BAFTA, BFI, BFC, NFTS) and local community organisations (local councils, charities, educational centres, local residents and community group) to help deliver on WBSL’s environmental sustainability aspirations.

Qualifications & Experiences...

  • Demonstrable experience of effectively developing and delivering environmental and sustainability strategies for businesses – either in-house or in consultancy roles.

  • Knowledge across the spectrum of environmental sustainability issues, such as decarbonisation, waste management circularity, sustainable supply chains, biodiversity, water, climate risks.

  • Demonstrate an awareness of environmental management systems and environmental tools for Film and HETV.

  • A familiarity and working knowledge of BAFTA albert.

  • Membership of an accredited institution such as IEMA or CIWEM is desirable

  • Knowledge of ISO Standards and requirements inc. ISO14001, ISO50001 is desirable

  • An understanding of the production process within the UK film and HETV.

Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
