NorthCraft Neighborhoods Carpenters in Leadville, Colorado

POSITION: Lead Carpenter.

DUTIES: Lead Carpenter is responsible for professional completion of framing and siding and manage in-house carpentry crew on multiple homes simultaneously. About Us: We are a small, production home builder located in Leadville, the highest City in the US, in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, with nine to twelve starts per year. Focused on thoughtful, healthy, energy efficient homes with Colorado mountain charm and options to add space and upgrade finishes. E Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: - Framing and Siding o Frame and side homes per CDs, applicable building codes, best practices, specs, options and other relevant documents o Layout floor, wall and truss framing. Layout dry-in and siding o Manage and work alongside in-house framing crew o Set and enforce expectations for production and efficiency o Create and execute daily work plans for carpentry crew o Verify material required for work plans is on-site o Store and use material efficiently o Complete work with a high level of care and efficiency o Ensure tools, equipment, materials and jobsite are secured against theft, vandalism and weather etc. at the end of each day o Occasionally manage/mitigate site weather conditions including snow removal, blanketing, temporary heating, material protection. Cancel work if necessary due to weather - Safety o Thoroughly understand safety requirements o Identify and mitigate framing and siding safety risks and requirements o Educate crew on safety hazards and OSHA standards and hold accountable for working safely o Maintain reasonable level of job site cleanliness o Identify, track and mitigate safety hazards and ongoing safety issues o Stop work if life or limb threatening hazard exists o Direct crew members to leave job site in serious or repeat cases or other reasonable measures to enforce safety - Staff o Teach, develop and manage carpentry crew members o Collaborate with other staff and professional consultants to achieve successful outcomes for all parties o Occasionally share duties with Construction Manager - Quality Assurance o Instruct carpentry crew members on QA requirements o Verify critical details are properly completed daily o Complete QA checklists for each phase framing and siding - Homebuyers o Engage with prospective walk-up buyers, answer high level questions about homes, purchase process, timeline, etc. and share prospects with Sales - Other duties as assigned Qualifications: - Strong work ethic and personal integrity - Represent company positively. Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders - Demonstrated capabilities in managing projects and people in a construction environment - Work independently to frame and side homes - Ability to think creatively to solve problems and open to new/different framing methods - Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Traverse rough ground on construction sites. Ability to move around in tight, enclosed spaces. Ability to perform manual labor in harsh environments for extended periods.

REQUIREMENTS: Three years of residential new construction framing, and siding experience required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: High school degree or equivalent required. Must pass background and motor vehicle checks and be able to legally work in US.

PREFERRED: Conversational Spanish a plus. Personal transportation to and from site preferred.

WAGE: Salary range is $60,000 to $70,000 annually. This is FSLA Non-exempt full-time position with compensation determined by experience and performance.

SHIFTS: This is a Full-time position working Monday through Friday hours to be discussed at interview. Ability to work long hours and occasional weekends/off hours when necessary may be required.

JOB SITE: Leadville, CO.

BENEFITS: Health insurance reimbursement of up to $650/month for emp oyee, eight paid holidays, two weeks of vacation plus four personal days with time accruing each pay period. Smartphone and mileage reimbursement at IRS rate.
