About the Role:
The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing category strategy. The role will support various adm business units within the Americas by providing strategic solutions for the procurement of goods. They will be responsible for leading discussions, negotiations, creating estimates, and onboarding strategic partners.
The role requires familiarity with displays (semi-permanent & permanent) and marketing print materials across a wide range of substrates and print methods. The position requires strong technical knowledge of production processes to drive the development of innovative and sustainable solutions for adm’s clients. Understanding the corrugate and print manufacturing process and related cost drivers are critical in this position. Analytical approach, commercial awareness, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Create and implement category strategy and procurement plans that support business goals, are commercially sound, and demonstrate insight based on detailed spend and trends analysis, and innovation.
Support and collaborate with other departments and Business Units to develop strategic sourcing solutions that add value to our clients and enhance adm’s capabilities and profitability.
Ensure customer service is a priority. Identify and resolve all issues relating to clients promptly.
Participate in industry trade shows to develop and maintain business relationships, improve product knowledge, and identify potential new suppliers.
Undertake RFQ exercises for key projects, new business opportunities, and regular benchmarking and analyzing the outputs to deliver the best result for adm.
Conduct spend, specification, demand, and market analysis to identify/evaluate value opportunities.
Conduct regular market and spend analysis programs to drive cost savings and supplier improvements.
Manage and mitigate risk within our supply chain by monitoring and reporting on relevant commodity indices, market trends, and develop contingency plans for supply chain disruptions.
Build rate cards; manage the whole process from client baseline validation through supplier pricing to final savings calculation.
Manage the e-auction process for various strategic initiatives.
Build and maintain relationships with strategic partners through performance management systems, regular reviews, and strategic collaborations.
Implement annual agreements with key supply partners to drive best-in-class value for adm and its clients.
Identify gaps in our manufacturing base, recruit potential vendor partners, evaluate their market competitiveness, and initiate onboarding as needed.
Develop a strong supplier base with a focus on sustainability and ensure we partner with suppliers who adhere to ethical standards and ensure that products and materials are sourced in an environmentally responsible manner.
Analyze and evaluate new supplier capability across key criteria such as capability, service, delivery, cost, commercial terms, compliance, sustainability, and innovation.
Conduct training sessions and provide technical insight to internal Business Units.
Support Business Units on special programs by with cost-effective solutions and on-time deliveries.
Identify opportunities for continual improvement within our procurement and process strategies.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years of experience in displays, POP, promotional purchasing, or a related field. Procurement certifications are a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven proficiency with Microsoft Suite, and advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint. PowerBI is a plus.
Skilled in sourcing, negotiation, market/product/supplier analysis, and contract formulation.
Leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience in Purchasing or shared service centers is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel.
Self-motivated with an ability to resolve day-to-day problems and focus on delivering results.
Ability to make effective escalation decisions.
Strong attention to detail and proven organizational and time management skills.
Familiar in modern procurement technologies and digital transformation initiatives. Including management of e-procurement systems, AI, and analytics.
Experience in global sourcing, understanding international markets, and managing international suppliers.
Understands to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards in procurement activities.
Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment and handle cross-cultural communications and negotiations.
