Required Qualifications:

  1. A Ph.D. in media studies, communication, information studies, or a closely related field (completed within the last five years).

  2. A strong record of academic publications as evidenced in application materials.

  3. Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: digital media, communication and technology, emerging media, public interest communication, or information studies.

  4. Excellent communication skills as demonstrated in application materials.

  5. Previous experience working collaboratively in interdisciplinary settings as shown in application materials.

NOTE: To be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title, it is necessary to have the PhD conferred at the time of hire. Appointments made without a diploma or certified transcript indicating an earned doctorate are conditional hires and are appointed on an interim basis not to exceed 6-months. Upon verification of degree the appointment will be extended to its full duration.

Position Overview:

Professor Hyunjin Seo invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join the KU Center for Digital Inclusion project team on their National Science Foundation-funded project aimed supporting digital skills among underserved and marginalized populations. This position is designed for scholars specializing in areas such as media studies, communication, digital and emerging technologies, or related fields. The fellow will engage in advanced research and collaborative projects, contributing to community-engaged research projects of the KU Center for Digital Inclusion.
