Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager/Director in our CPA Firm located in the Omaha, NE metro area. Your role will encompass various responsibilities in the tax department, including preparing and reviewing tax returns, conferring with clients on tax-related matters, and potential leadership roles within the department.
This role will allow for hybrid/remote working capabilities (up to 3-4 days remotely/1-2 days in-office). This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with salaried pay and bonus eligibility.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, businesses, non-profits, trusts, and estates
• Maintain client relationships and deliver exceptional client service throughout the tax preparation process
• Assist clients in planning and consulting on tax-related issues including estate matters, tax issues, and business strategies
• Identify and propose resolutions for technically advanced tax issues
• Manage client expectations effectively
• Demonstrate advanced computer literacy with relevant software programs
• Identify opportunities to expand services to clients
• Cultivate new client relationships through referrals and networking
• Stay current on regulations and technical matters through training and self-study
• Utilize various accounting software systems and tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CCH Sales Tax, and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
• Perform various accounting functions and ensure compliance with federal and local tax laws.
Requirements
Requirements/Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field required
• CPA license highly desired, but prior equivalent experience in Public Accounting Tax will be considered
• Previous experience reviewing/overseeing firm employees required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Public Accounting Tax role highly desired.
• Experience with CCH ProSystem accounting software a plus, but not required.
• Experience working in a client-facing role and handling client requests/questions directly a plus.
