Job Title:Mechanical Production Expediting Manager (Contract). Location:Laurel, MD.
Pay Range: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Clearance Requirement:U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-orientedMechanical Production Expediting Managerto join a leading company on a contract basis. In this role, you will optimize workflow, prioritize tasks, and resolve competing demands to ensure timely project execution. You'll collaborate across engineering, production, and supply chain teams to address challenges, maintain schedules, and drive impactful outcomes in support of aerospace and manufacturing programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Resolve barriers to assembly work order completion by the required dates.
Escalate issues related to resource conflicts, process gaps, and bottlenecks.
Coordinate efforts with Engineering, Production Planning, Kitting, REDD Manufacturing, and other teams to prioritize tasks and ensure on-time project completion.
Collaborate with Engineering to design, test, and refine workflows for high-volume mechanical components, including rework and reintegration contingency plans.
Propose creative solutions, make independent decisions, and optimize workflows to maintain project momentum.
Interpret technical drawings, part specifications, and fabrication requirements to establish an efficient integration schedule.
Serve as the main point of contact for BPM in SES Program status meetings, providing insights on parts, materials, and assembly progress.
Facilitate collaborative meetings and maintain real-time updates on program supply status and estimates-to-complete.
Partner with BPM Managers to drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and information flow for production facilitation.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in production management, manufacturing, engineering, or a related field; or 3-5 years of relevant experience in technical production facilitation and manufacturing.
Proven experience supporting manufacturing efforts from design to delivery.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and functions.
Strong organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Experience managing dynamic projects with multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.
High sense of urgency, responsiveness, and ability to independently complete tasks.
Proficiency in using ERP systems for tracking parts and assemblies.
Detail-oriented with strong multitasking capabilities and customer service focus.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Four or more years of experience in manufacturing support roles.
Current or previous APICS certifications (CPIM and/or CSCP).
Experience with Infor Visual ERP systems.
