Southwest Gas Corporation Treasury Analyst I in Las Vegas, Nevada

The Analyst I/Financial has multiple responsibilities designed to assist the Manager/Treasury Services in maintaining the efficient operation of the financial and treasury functions of the Company. These responsibilities include cash management, cash forecasting and planning, preparation of monthly/quarterly interest rate schedules, monitoring and complying with financial reporting requirements, reconciling pension accounts, supporting in regulatory filings, and supporting various middle office functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

There are established policies that the incumbent uses as guidelines to determine how this job is performed. Requirements for this position are an undergraduate degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or economics with a minimum of zero to two years of experience in the finance/treasury-related areas, or equivalent, or recent graduates with strong academic performance, and possession of the ability to adequately communicate with others (i.e., financial analysts, bank executives), both orally and in writing.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

•Forecast daily, weekly, and monthly cash needs

•Schedule and structure daily borrowing of cash at the most efficient terms

•Perform daily investment of cash at the highest returns, but with low risk to principal

•Maintain adequate liquidity for daily business operations

•Determine the amount and frequency of the daily cash transfers from the Company’s multiple depositories to the general fund (concentration account)

•Manage all corporate bank account activities

•Perform periodic review of banking fees and services

•Prepare, transact and document all wire transfers in accordance with established policies and procedures

•Analyze, on an ongoing basis, all corporate cash transactions to ensure the most efficient deployment of cash assets

•Maintain adequate records of all cash transactions

•Prepare monthly/quarterly interest rate and other schedules for financial reporting purposes

•Monitor all credit agreements and related covenants and comply with all reporting requirements

•Assist in the preparation of schedules and exhibits regarding cost of capital issues

•Perform regulatory related duties and responsibilities as assigned

•Reconcile pension accounts and maintain required balance in the accounts

•Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job

SALARY DETAILS

Las Vegas: $53,900 - $75,500
