Sr. IT Network Engineer Golden Entertainment Corporate (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary

Provide advanced enterprise support for the network infrastructure. Coordinate and deliver system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements to existing infrastructure. Analyze business needs and support network solutions on multiple platforms in a LAN/WAN environment. Assists with network troubleshooting, maintenance, management, and upgrades as necessary. Provide guidance and leadership to fellow Network Engineers. Perform all functions in accordance with IT processes and procedures and departmental objectives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for Network related issues and takes ownership until a satisfactory resolution is achieved

  • Assume the duties and responsibilities of the IT Networks Manager when needed

  • Make recommendations to IT network management on upgrades and/or hardware replacements to best secure the company infrastructure

  • Configure and administer all LAN, WAN, and Wireless Networking, including, but not limited to configuring, keeping up to date with the latest codes, software updates and patches, and signatures

  • Apply security patches, updates/upgrades to network equipment

  • Assist IT Networks Manager with the overall strategy, design and implementation of the network infrastructure

  • Assist IT Networks Manager as a subject matter expert in network infrastructure

  • Maintain network topology diagrams

  • Monitor systems alerts and logs on a daily basis

  • Participate in on on-call support rotation for network-related issues

  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of I.T. crisis situations

  • Assist with conducting end-user training on networks as requested

  • Serve as the team lead which includes mentoring, training, and assisting Network Engineers as required

  • Maintain documentation for network equipment, tickets, tasks, and other related projects

  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming, and federal, laws and regulations, company internal controls, policies and procedures as they apply to the position

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Network Administrator or Network Engineering role

  • Experience in a casino/hotel resort environment strongly preferred

  • CCNA certification required, CCNP preferred

  • Working knowledge of a network server infrastructure

  • Working knowledge of Network and Storage Area Networks

  • Familiarity with communication and routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.

  • Previous experience with designing and deploying functional networks (LAN, WAN, VPN)

  • Experience with NGFW appliances (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Meraki).

  • Knowledge of deploying SD-WAN and other cloud-based technologies.

  • Working knowledge of configuring NPM tools such as SolarWinds.

  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco IOS, Ruckus Fast Iron, Forti-OS, Pan-OS.

  • Excellent problem-solving, decision making and communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users

  • Previous experience working independently; prioritizing and planning work

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment while effectively managing multiple priorities

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information sciences from a four-year college or university, an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio-including advanced diagram design)

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

  • Ability to work after normal business hours as required

  • Reliable transportation and the ability to minimally travel is required

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

  • Verify right to work in the United States
