GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under close supervision, performs entry-level duties as assigned in the installation, modification, preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment or machinery used in the Minting operation. *Maintenance Technician I may advance to the higher tech level after gained experience and demonstrated abilities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair faulty production machinery using a variety of hand tools, power tools and voltage meters.
- Light troubleshooting of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Follow plans/blueprints to verify material components and specifications of machinery for setup or repair.
- Perform general plant maintenance including building, lighting and plumbing.
- Setup machinery tooling and make any necessary adjustments for product changeovers
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, hand trucks and forklift.
- Must be able to learn and use a CMMS system in the aid of daily work order requests, charge parts and failure tracking.
- Perform weekly, monthly, yearly preventative maintenance on all machinery according to a CMMS schedule.
- Escalate all repeat failures and non-basic maintenance issues in timely manner to assigned lead or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform general housekeeping and cleanup sometimes to the aid of higher-level techs.
REQUIREMENTS:
- HighSchool Diploma or equivalency is preferred.
- Previous Experience with: Preventative maintenance - Fluids, filters and lubes,. Gearboxes -rebuilds, ratios, alignments, Conveyors - setup, motors, sprockets and belts, Cooling towers - strainers, filters, pumps, general upkeep, Light electrical troubleshooting - check fuses, contactor overloads, motor wiring and ground faults,
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Able to follow direction and paying attention to details.
- Ability to be read, write and communicate effectively
- Understand basic math.
- Ability to demonstrate predictable, reliable and timely attendance.
- Ability to work as part of a team; interact appropriately with others.
- Ability to pass a strict drug and background check.
