Job Summary and Qualifications

The Certified Surgical Technologist - CVOR functions under the supervision of the unit Clinical Nurse Coordinator and performs tasks assisting surgeons in the preparation and handling of instruments, scopes, supplies and equipment during interventional operative cases, specifically cardiovascular.   • Is responsible for maintaining sterility of the operative environment and holding others accountable to the same

  • Observes all universal protocol requirements and surgical technologist standards of care

  • Cares for patients from neonate to geriatric

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate from high school or equivalent program

  • Graduation an accredited school of surgical technology, or completion of a training program for surgical technologists administered by the US Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard required

  • Must have obtained certification from a nationally recognized certification board prior to hire, and will maintain certification without lapse throughout duration of employment

  • Current basic life support certification

  • Experience in an acute care setting is preferred

  • Experience in the operating room is preferred

  • Experience in CVOR and Vein harvesting

  • Complies with hospital employee health, infection control, and safety management programs
