Job Overview Performs a variety of tasks involved in the assembly of electronic components, sub-assemblies, products, or systems. Works fairly independently or under minimal supervision. Perform duties in accordance with Manufacturing Department/ISO 9001 written procedures. The employee will be willing to work overtime when it is needed.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following and additional duties assigned as needed:

  • Keep machine running once machine is set up.
  • Followwritten instructions for assigned machine.
  • Identifythe components of parts.
  • Identify defects of components on the boards.
  • Workon some of the Board Assembly responsibilities as needed.
  • Initially operateone machine on the floor (SMT, Coat, Select Solderand Wave)
  • Cross train in all machines on the floor (SMT, Coat, Select Solder and Wave)
  • Set upand tear down one machine on the production floor.
  • Follow drawings and BOM of the work orders.
  • Settingup the next scheduled job.
  • KeepManufacturing area clean of dust and debris.
  • Cross train on PCB Assembly side of team.
  • May assistwith material handling function.
  • May assistwith Final Assembly, Test, Stockroom and Shipping functions as needed.
  • May set up and prepare workstations.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Equipment/Tools: Must be able to use various assembly equipment such as; Soldering Irons, De-Soldering Station equipment, Mag-Lamps, wire cutters, and Microscopes, hand tools such as; tweezers, cutters, needle nose pliers ,screwdrivers, and wrenches.

Education and/or experience:

  • No formal education is required. One-year experience soldering and/or electromechanical assembly of PC boards including the following skills is required.
  • Ability toidentify electronic and mechanical components (i.e.: resistor color codes and mechanical hardware, etc.)
  • Ability tointerpret assembly blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly process documentation.
  • Precisionsoldering to the IPC-A-610C.
  • Knowledgeof surface mount assembly and rework may be required.
