Premier Bone and Joint Centers Reimbursement Specialist in Laramie, Wyoming
Premier Bone and Joint Centers (PBJC) has an opening for a full-time Reimbursement Specialist for our Laramie, WY clinic. The successful candidate must have the ability to learn quickly, stay organized, and multi-task, ensuring accuracy within a fast-paced medical office environment. The Reimbursement Specialist is responsible for communicating with insurance companies and answering patient questions regarding their bills. Exceptional customer service, relationship building skills, people skills, excellent communications skills, detail oriented, and knowledge of computer programs are a must. Experience in healthcare, including medical billing, accounts receivable, or collections, is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Post mailed- in patient and insurance payments
- Process all paper and electronic claims for assigned carriers
- Verify completeness of paper insurance claim info before mailing
- Prepare deposit and credit card slips and ensure deposit totals balance with printed reports
- Copy and attach required documentation of HCFA'S
- Copy and submit required invoices to insurance carriers
- Submit secondary and tertiary claims to insurance
- Process requests for refunds and submit to Manager for approval
- Answer telephone calls in the Business Office
- Maintain archive material
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Understand and compiles with HIPPA and compliance guidelines
- Compile, copy, sort, date stamp, and file records of office activities
- Ability to communicate with patients regarding their accounts.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of medical billing policies and procedures
Knowledge of insurance provider policies and procedures regarding patient claims
Skill in written and oral communication, utilizing etiquette and negotiation skills
Ability to interact with a diverse group of constituents, including patients, insurance providers, coworkers, and management
Ability to perform multiple tasks at once with accuracy
Ability to review and interpret detailed information with accuracy
