Nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan - our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.

Job Summary:

Position is responsible for the maintenance, design, and installation of infrastructure and production equipment, buildings, and grounds. At times this position may require more than eight hours daily and more than five days weekly to complete assignments.

Job Responsibilities:

(May include, but are not limited to, the following)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plans, designs, and administers various engineering projects and programs related to traditional facilities infrastructure and production equipment. Will routinely interface with internal customers, contractors, and suppliers.

  • Provides engineered solutions for equipment modifications or new equipment purchase recommendations to achieve production goals.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors on procurement of facilities and production equipment support; tests newly installed machines to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.

  • Generate scope of work documents, cost estimates, equipment change documentation.

  • Oversee contracted services as needed for equipment installs, modifications & repairs. Monitor their activities to ensure safe work practices.

  • Create or update existing 2D & 3D models of mechanical parts, schematics or systems using Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor software.

  • Collaborate with maintenance, electrical engineers, process engineers, safety engineers, and other disciplines in the coordination of system upgrades / installs.

  • Perform engineering calculations, collect data and gather information to support equipment improvement initiatives for OEE improvements.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide field engineering and troubleshooting assistance to support maintenance, EHS and operation groups.

  • Perform observations, audits, etc. to support EHS initiatives.

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned by the Facility Engineering Manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: BS degree in an engineering or technology discipline.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

  • Ability to interpret drawings from all engineering disciplines, codes, and similar materials.

  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, basic understanding of electrical controls systems.

  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas to peers and senior staff.

  • Proficiency with Office 365.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' experience managing project builds, in machine design, or a manufacturing environment.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and remain within budget and on schedule.

  • Proven ability to manage equipment build processes, organize, and direct technicians and contractors.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Project a plus.

  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor software.

  • Must be organized and able to work in a team environment.
