The Lansing Board of Water & Light has an opening for a Systems Administrator I - III with our Information Technology Department in Lansing, MI.

 

Starting Salary Range: SA I: $66,927 - $79,643 / SA II: $74,367 - $89,278 / SA III: $91,746 - $111,930

Position Summary:

The Windows/VMware/VMware View Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, operating and maintaining a heterogeneous environment consisting of servers running Windows, VMware ESXi, and RedHat Linux.?

 

Essential Functions:

  • Able to assist PC Technicians/Help Desk staff with all level 1 support tickets related to system administration without assistance
  • Able to independently complete all level 2 support tickets related to system administration without assistance
  • Able to handle level 3 tickets related to system administration under the guidance of more senior system administrators or vendor technical support
  • Able to complete application and operating system patching as part of an ongoing patching cadence
  • Leadership Skill:
    • Prioritizes work effectively within guidelines provided by IT management
    • Executes a training plan as defined in annual performance evaluation process
  • Communication Skill:
    • Demonstrates a clear customer service/IT is a support organization mentality in all interactions
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
