The Opportunity

At Ally, every individual has a part to play in managing risk. In alignment with our risk culture, this position will ensure the appropriate identification, assessment, and measurement of risk related to the CFO Group. Further, appropriate solutions will be deployed to mitigate, control, monitor, test, and report identified risks. When necessary, identified risks will be escalated to the appropriate channels to ensure proper visibility.

The scope of this position includes interfacing with various departments and business partners, relative to risk detection, control, remediation, event management, and monitoring of Third Party Suppliers. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.

The Work Itself

* Execute critical tasks to enhance risk programs for diverse group of Third Party Suppliers that do business with Ally’s CFO Group * Guide relationship owners through the life-cycle of Third Party relationships (planning, due diligence, contracting, on-going monitoring, and off-boarding) * Ensure that risk assessments are completed for these parties by review of program activities, and work with teams managing due diligence, contracting, and onboarding to ensure that processes are aligned with identified risk level * Monitor and mitigate risk stemming from Third Party activities * Create, enhance and perform risk analysis and reporting for Third Parties including all risk stripes presenting significant risks * Ensure appropriate balance between risk-management and efficient execution of business development processes * Lead and promote a strong risk culture by using constructive dissent to appropriately challenge using data and analysis * Prepare presentation decks for Business Line Risk routines on a monthly and quarterly basis * Assist with training guide development and presentation * Develop / modify procedures to ensure key processes are identified and conform to enterprise policies, standards, and procedures

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in financial services industry with operational, risk, or program/project management experience
  • Familiarity/working knowledge of risk management components (e.g., policy/procedures, governance, reporting, risk control self-assessments, issue management) preferred
  • Ability to partner well across multiple skill sets and levels; strong relationship management and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with an eye to continuous improvement
  • Ability to multi-task and handle diverse/competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail and following through on commitments
  • High level of personal integrity, with the ability to handle confidential and otherwise sensitive matters professionally and with the appropriate level of judgement and maturity
  • Willingness to adapt to meet the needs of the risk organization in a dynamic environment
  • Proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel) required
  • Communicate effectively; both written and verbal, and across multiple teams
  • Finance expertise not required, but an understanding of basic financial concepts is preferred
  • GRC tool familiarity or experience is preferred (e.g. Archer or equivalent)

Base Pay Range:

Emerging: 70000

Experienced: 95000

Expert: 120000

Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan
