About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Backend engineer for the Cloud Growth/Experience Metrics platform team. We’re building the APIs that enable our Product-led Growth Frontend engineers to build compelling in-product experiences to help new users and organizations gain value quickly and become active customers of our Confluent Cloud offerings. The team is also building the next generation of our internal data platform to bring product insights to developers, product managers, designers and managers.
What You Will Do:
Build mission-critical backend services that deliver value to our customers. You will play a crucial role in architecting, designing, developing and operationalizing high performance, scalable, reliable and resilient services
Troubleshoot and debug technical issues inside a deep and complex technical stack that includes microservices, containers, and virtualization
Ensure operational readiness of the services and meet the availability and performance SLA commitments to our customers
Develop frameworks for data pipelines, metrics, dashboards, scorecards and alerts
Work closely with Frontend engineers, Product Managers, and other partner teams to make changes to existing services and build new ones
What You Will Bring:
5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
Strong track record of driving project execution and giving technical direction BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
Experience building and operating large-scale systems
Solid understanding of basic systems operations (disk, network, operating systems, etc)
A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
Proficiency in Go, C/C++, or other statically typed languages
Experience/knowledge with public clouds (AWS, Azure or GCP)

This position has an annual estimated salary of $164,160 - $192,870 USD , an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
