The Manager of Enterprise Facilities- Environmental Health & Safety assists in the planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and leading of multiple facilities management units and serves as the subject matter expert on environmental health and safety issues. * Develops, leads, and communicates EH&S and Facilities departments' strategic plan, goals and standards for Emerging Markets in alignment with brands and corporate goals. * Participates in development and management of annual departmental budget and resolution of discrepancies; this includes negotiating with vendors and suppliers and resolving any related issues. * Collaborates with HR, Union, Corporate Security, Legal, and Business Units to establish safety policies and protocols. * Provides oversight, resolves complex business issues, develops documentation and implements continuous improvement activities. * Proactively reviews industry standards and regulatory agencies for rule changes, developing applicable integration and training. * Serves as a liaison and creates alignment with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Facilities, Enterprise Security, and EHS teams. * Ensures adherence to OSHA, local, state and federal guidelines related to safety for all Emerging Markets facilities across multiple states. * Conduct risk assessments and site audits to minimize or eliminate workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, and/or long-term health hazards. * Acts as lead on accident or regulatory agency complaint investigations (i.e., MIOSHA) and leads all follow-up processes and reporting including the identification of root causes, remediation plan development and implementation, in coordination with the Office of the General Counsel and Human Resources. * Assists in coordination of multiple functional areas, including but not limited to facility planning, facility operations, shipping and receiving. * Manages multiple projects following proven project management methodologies, i.e. space planning, remodels, and departmental re-alignments. * Works with functional managers/supervisors to strategize and plan for achieving goals and objectives to improve service to internal and external customers. QUALIFICATIONS * Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree. * Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Health and Safety or related field required. * Requires valid Michigan driver's license. * Minimum seven (7) years of related experience is required. * Minimum three (3) years management / leadership experience required. * Certification in a safety related area required, Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred. * OSHA 30, required. * EPA 608 Certification, preferred. * Leadership ability and team building skills to effectively lead professional and non-professional staff and interact with all levels of management. * Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure success of a team. * Ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, * Ability and proficiency with writing and presenting reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals using company standard software specific to position. * Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Proficient in interpreting and analyzing regulatory codes, government regulations and standards, technical procedures relating to facilities and safety.
