Job Purpose
The Electrical Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical distribution systems, critical to servicing Jackson's internal and external customers. The primary purpose is to provide high quality, cost effective installation, maintenance and repair services to the electrical distribution system.
Essential Responsibilities
Completes the high quality, cost effective installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of an assortment of power distribution and communication systems and equipment.
Completes an assortment of assignments and projects with minimal supervision using technical blueprints and documents.
Investigates and analyzes data/electrical equipment and system problems and provides solutions and recommendations to the Electrical Supervisor.
Responsible for the safe and proper lockout hazardous energy sources on all facility systems or equipment on which work is performed.
Responds to site emergencies.
Implements industry and corporate standards into the workplace.
Provides documentation for electrical systems for Jackson facilities nationwide.
Other Duties
Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong knowledge of national and local electrical codes and standards.
Must have an understanding of the following: building, fire, ADA and related codes.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
Availability to work weekends and any shift required on short notice.
Ability to travel to other facilities with overnight stays as required.
Ability to handle heavy workloads (80 pounds) and pull cable as necessary.
Good communication skills, dedication, and committed to providing excellent customer service
Qualifications
H.S. Diploma required.
4+ years Electrical experience required.
Valid journeyman electrician license required.
