Job Description
POSITION DUTIES - This position serves as an analyst for the Investigative Analytics Section and works closely with internal investigative staff in the prevention and determination of fraud for the Department. The main functions include determining potential areas of fraud, identifying data that can be utilized to “predict” patterns of abuse. The use of data modeling techniques to identify relational data sets and determine how the information can be collected, analyzed and used to produce reports of fraud methods, organizations and framework. The analyst also ensures quality assurance practices as it relates to data accuracy, and overall development of fraud prevention practices. This position will also serve as a Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) Operator.

Civil Service Commission Rule 2-7 requires that all newly hired state employees submit to and pass a pre-employment drug test prior to their actual appointment. Due to the nature of work of the Department of State, criminal records will be checked. Any position offer will be conditional until results of the criminal background record checks indicate eligibility for employment.
Due to Criminal Justice requirements for LEIN operators, position requires incumbent submit fingerprints for state and federal criminal background checks; qualify for access under the criminal conviction policy per the Federal CJIS Security Policy and Michigan addendum; pass the LEIN certification test and be certified within 6 months of employment or assignment; and retest/recertify every 2 years.
Position requires incumbent be a United States Citizen and pass a thorough background
investigation to comply with Public Act 7 of 2008, Public Act 23 of 2008, and the Memorandum of Agreement between the State of Michigan and the Department of Homeland Security.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
