The position serves as a recognized resource for program development projects for children’s specialty behavioral health services, ages 6 to 21 years of age, in the public mental health system and ensures program development and provides for the oversight of assigned projects. This position develops, implements, and maintains documentation on projects, including programmatic reporting on children’s behavioral health services funded by the Bureau, and monitors and evaluates projects to ensure compliance with federal, state and foundation requirements. This position researches, collects and analyzes and interprets information/data for program development. The analyst develops processes to capture, analyze, and report funding made available for serving children, youth, and their families. The position coordinates project activities, establishes priorities, and resolves related work problems. Communication and coordination are essential across bureaus, administrations, and the field to ensure consistent practices. This position collaborates with the Behavioral and Physical Health and Aging Services Administration (BPHASA) and other internal and external stakeholders for establishing efficiency in processes and recommending program development improvements. This position prepares requests for proposals, scoring of proposals and makes program development recommendations specific to children and youth with behavioral health needs.

Required Education and Experience

Education

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in human service field, Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

Departmental Analyst 12 - Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.

Alternate Education and Experience

Departmental Analyst 9 - 12- Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Position Location/Remote Office: The physical location of this position is 333 S. Grand Ave, Lansing, MI 48933. Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:

  • A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions.

  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload.

  • Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
