Job Description

The Director of Clinical Program Development leads a Clinical team across a given business function. The responsibilities align to a Clinical domain that supports a service such as Clinical program development, Clinical product management, Clinical system development & data analysis or other drug therapy related product or services offered by Prime. The individual occasionally works with Prime clients and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to ensure clinical programs meet the competitive needs of their clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of pharmacists in a discipline such as Prime UM (Utilization Management) program development or Clinical reporting and analytics.

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for various interdepartmental projects and initiatives, build the business cases, and seek funding as necessary.

  • Set team direction by establishing goals and objectives that are aligned to enterprise priorities and managing the team to these defined outputs.

  • Establish roles and responsibilities within their team, as well as across departments of which they routinely interact; developing internal working relationships that drive effective collaboration.

  • Represent Clinical programs on complex topics and select client calls.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the processes are evolving to support efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.

  • Accountable for overseeing all functions of their assigned team including staffing, coaching, budgeting, managing team workload, improving process, and setting goals and objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Pharmacy Degree

  • Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the State where the position is located

  • 6 years of relevant work experience to include at least 4 years’ experience in managed care or clinical pharmacy

  • 4 years of leadership/people management experience

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to a wide range of audiences

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and at all levels within the organization

  • Cross-functional experience in PBM clinical roles

  • Project management experience

  • Leadership experience in a related role

Minimum Physical Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Constantly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel, talk and hear

  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, and crouch

  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Reporting Structure:

  • Reports to AVP in the Clinical Development department

Potential pay for this position ranges from $124,000.00 - $211,000.00 based on experience and skills.
