Emerson MES Lead Engineer in LANGENFELD (RHEINLAND), Germany

We are looking for a Manufacturing Execution System Lead Engineer to join our team in Langenfeld, Germany!

In this role you will be responsible for overall design and engineering of project specific Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), primarily in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, to meet the requirements of both the end-users and Emerson Process Management business.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Architect and lead the implementation of MES and system integration solutions projects following Emerson Project Management Office and Quality Control Processes to clients primarily in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry.

  • Guide customers in defining optimal ERP/ LIMS/ etc. interfaces and ensure their detailed design and efficient deployment.

  • Develop designs that meet client requirements and documentation required for validated facilities.

  • Be responsible for the overall solution, to define scope, sizing, system / operational requirements/integration/functional requirements, support project estimations and ensure execution methodology.

  • Provide project execution leadership and mentorship at different levels within project teams, client organizations and sales, as well as with an experienced team of sales engineers, consultants and software developers.

  • Install and commission MES software applications including commercial products and internally developed applications, in-house and at customer site.

  • Visit client sites and perform design studies, acceptance tests, commissioning and training.

  • Quickly learn new skills and technologies.

  • Assist the sales organization in demonstrations, presentations and engineering estimates.

For this Role, You Will Need:

  • Technical University Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Chemical Engineering or Control System Engineering and experience with requirements analysis, design definition and implementation of software solutions above the manufacturing floor.

  • Experience with software development using C#, C++ or VB.Net and Web Services, ASP.Net and XML.

  • Experience in FDA regulated industry- knowledge of cGMP, 21 CFR part11 and validation.

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System packages like Syncade, Rockwell ProPack Data, Werum PAS-X and proven experience in a MES project leadership role.

  • Experience with integrating different plant floor / MES / ERP systems (SAP preferred).

  • Knowledge of some, preferably all, of the following DeltaV Control system elements: Software system design, System software engineering with Batch and Recipe applications, Software implementation and software testing.

  • Proficiency in English - written and spoken and fluent German.

  • Availability to travel within Germany, Austria and Switzerland (valid car driving license) up to 20% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Proven MES product knowledge or software development experience preferred.

  • Experience biotech/pharmaceutical sites preferred.

  • Batch plant operation experience preferred.
