Summary

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for developing the comprehensive business and clinical strategies to promote wellbeing for employees and dependents in partnership with employers and deliver the corresponding programs and services that are engaging, efficacious, and fiscally responsible.

HOURS: Monday-Friday regular dayshift hours but the need to be available during off hour needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

  • Manage all clinicians and support staff within the Corporate Wellness department to ensure alignment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization, and meet the cultural, clinical, and service standards established within Penn Medicine HealthWorks.

  • Routinely engage with employers to ascertain the opportunities to improve employee well-being, optimize utilization of the health care delivery model, and control health care spend through the innovative design and deployment of wellness programming.

  • Collaborate with administrators, clinicians, brokers, and payers to determine ways to optimize service programs that offer a proven and shared benefit for all stakeholders.

  • Develop business plans and contracts in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure marketable services that routinely enhance the service portfolio and engage clients.

  • Develop annual capital and operating budgets in cooperation with Penn Medicine HealthWorks leadership colleagues and oversee department operation to manage accordingly.

  • Maintains professional relations and regularly reviews literature to ensure clinical trends and educational services influence policies, procedures, guidelines, and processes.

  • Develops, implements, and regularly reviews marketing plans, and promotes services throughout the employer community in partnership with the Employer Relations Liaison, the Marketing Specialist, and Penn Medicine HealthWorks leadership colleagues.

  • Develop and model relationship-building methods and personally respond to service recovery issues, when necessary.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinicians and support staff within the Corporate Wellness department but, also indirectly throughout Penn Medicine HealthWorks to ensure they always achieve clinical and service standards.

  • Responsible for monitoring and coaching performance, developing staff improvement plans as needed, and enforcing appropriate disciplinary action/termination as necessary as per Human Resource guidelines/protocols.

  • Fosters staff retention by building and environment based on trust, participation in decision- making, teamwork, and responsiveness. Recognizes positive contributions of staff.

  • Communicates regularly with staff to keep them apprised of external and internal initiatives and changes.

  • Works closely with Penn Medicine LG Health Director of Benefits to facilitate the Penn Medicine LG Health Employee Wellness Program with focus on improving health and reducing healthcare costs.

  • Conducts business forecasting, program statistical analysis and other analytical tasks to ensure up-to-date responses to environmental indices.

  • Develops and implements goals of Department for a one (1) or two (2) year period consistent with those of the department and hospital.

  • Develops & maintains relationships with key community leaders.

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates programs and systems necessary to support changing healthcare needs.

  • Collaborates with the Practice Manager of Penn Medicine HealthWorks to ensure cooperative service delivery to employer group members and contribute to the corresponding quarterly value review.

  • Provides leadership and oversight for implementing care navigation service for all enrolled employers. This includes ,but is not restricted to, ensuring the fulfillment of success metrics for each employer group, regular assignment of health coaches for on-site and virtual access, and the development of protocols to foster integration with the health system.

  • Facilitate training and practical experiences for the Corporate Wellness team to obtain knowledge of the health system, foster employer relations as a trusted Penn Medicine LG ambassador, and deploy effective care navigation services.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:

  • Directs Quality Assurance activities within the facilities' program and reports findings to the Performance Improvement Committee.

  • Initiates publicity for facility programs in consultation with Community Relations.

  • Assess and analyze community health data and identify gaps and needs in services.

  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or related field (healthcare field)

  • Three years of experience in health and wellness related employment.

  • Three years of supervisory or management experience is required for the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in health related field,
