Water Street Mission Female Senior Life Coach in Lancaster, Pennsylvania

For Water Street Mission to fulfill its mission and purpose, it is critical for all staff to participate in the development and maintenance of a healthy Christian Community. Even as some positions have minimal direct contact with guests, each staff member has an essential role in forming and maintaining Christian community. Job Summary:

A Senior Life Coach will coach an assigned caseload of Residential guests towards sustainable restoration, providing accountability and empowerment for guests to reach their self-identified goals. A Senior Life Coach will work cooperatively with a team of Residential Life and Community Resources staff to actively participate in a safe and healing environment and uphold the mission, vision, purpose, and core values of WSM. A Senior Life Coach will provide peer leadership for Life Coaches and Life Coach Assistants, with the support and encouragement of Life Coach Supervisors.

FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

All Water Street Mission staff must be:

• Willing to sign the Water Street Ministries' Statement of Faith

• A current and active member and/or regular attendee of a local church.

• Able to fully support the Water Street Mission's core values and ministry philosophy.

Essential Functions:

Culture and Values

• Share the Good News of Jesus Christ in words and actions with people we serve, communicating hope and dignity.

• Walk alongside fellow WSM staff in Christian community as we journey toward maturity.

• Encourage restoration in the lives of coworkers and guests, recognizing we are each restored by God to become restorers.

• Work in full coordination with other WSM staff at all times to identify, report and respond appropriately to any potential threats to the safety and wellbeing of guests.

• Above all, hold a love for Jesus and a recognition that ministry takes precedence over tasks.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

• Minister to guests, reflecting God's love for each individual, through a non-judgmental, grace-filled relationship.

• Be present in and manage Residential areas.

• Meet weekly or biweekly with assigned Residential guests on caseload for individual Life Coach sessions to support guest's individualized, strengths-based plans and goals.

• Prepare up-to-date status reports of guest engagement requirements for Action Plan reviews.

• Lead/facilitate weekly or biweekly guest groups (Life Coach groups, community meetings, etc.).

• Cover as a lead Life Coach when Life Coach Supervisors are not on campus.

• Lead crisis management/de-escalation of incidents on campus as needed.

• Provide peer support and coaching to Life Coaches when Life Coaches are assigned a temporary guest caseload.

• Have accountability conversations with guests (Action Plan engagement, chores, tasks, etc.).

• Represent the Life Coach perspective in Multidisciplinary Team meetings in planning next steps for guests.

• Perform weekly room checks.

• Perform breathalyzer drug tests, as directed or needed.

• Move and orient new guests to the Residential Program.

• Oversee room changes and out cycles.

• Work with Dorm Monitors to ensure rooms are prepped and welcoming for new guests.

• Work with LCs/LCAs to manage and stock supplies for all Residential areas.

• Meet with shelter guests for Residential Application meetings, as needed.

• Attend all required meetings and trainings, such as Multidisciplinary Team, Life Coach Team meeting, Senior Life Coach Peer Group, all-staff meetings, off-site trainings, and others.

• Answer Access Center cell phone on evenings/weekends, when working.

• Maintain accurate guest information, including documentation and data management.

• Know and uphold all current policies and procedures, contributing to revisions and new policies as needed.

• Work in full coordination with staff to identify guest needs and link guests to internal WSM resources.

• Work every fourth weekend.

• Work one evening a week (1:00-9:30 PM).

• Work holidays as assigned in the staff rotation.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree required in human services or related field. Minimum of 1-3 years' experience at organization(s) serving marginalized populations and/or in the areas of mental health, trauma, addictions recovery. Competency in Microsoft Office products required. Ability to work with a database (ex: Salesforce) is essential. Bilingual English-Spanish strongly preferred.
