Job Title: Engineering Technician

Job Description

The Engineering Technician is uniquely responsible for bringing early-stage engineering designs to life through prototype fabrication and testing. This role involves tasks that may have never been attempted or constrained by unique conditions. The Engineering Technician must be able to complete tasks swiftly with limited or incomplete information. If you need detailed answers before starting, this is not the role for you. Close communication between the Project Engineer and the Engineering Technician is essential for solving challenging problems. Strong communication skills are a must. The Engineering Technician is a true problem solver with an innovative spirit and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities include: working with engineers to develop the best approach for fabrication (e.g., design for manufacturability), interpreting engineering drawings and procedures, setting up measurement sensors and data acquisition, developing test plans and conducting safety reviews, sourcing components and hardware from vendors, and managing fabrication schedules.

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Months.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

30% in the office design and drafting using SolidWorks for jigs, fixtures, or product/machine process adjustments. The other 70% on the manufacturing floor involves various tasks such as testing, test setup, data collection, non-destructive inspection of fabrication, light prototype assembly (mechanically and electrically), and first article inspection.
