Skookum is seeking a Safety Coordinator with a positive attitude. The Safety Coordinator represents all divisional worksites and allows the organization to take an overall look at safety requirements. An effective Safety Coordinator encourages safety awareness, gets many employees actively involved in the safety program over time, and helps motivate employees to follow sound safety practices. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Coordinate and arrange safety committee meetings. Coordinate daily safety topics for worksite meetings. Delegate safety tasks as needed down to the day/swing Leads. Update site workers on any safety policy changes or safety improvements. Review AHA's and help with the development and revision of AHA's Compile environmental reports to include chemicals used to ensure our safety reports are up to date Work with your supervisor to eliminate hazardous conditions and unsafe work practices. Intervene if you believe an employee is engaged in an unsafe work practice. Assist with accident investigations which occur at your worksite. Conduct monthly safety inspections of work areas. Document and report all deficiencies Listen to employee suggestions about safety and bring those that appear to have merit to the SSHO for review. Conduct yourself in a safe and professional manner in compliance with site policy, OSHA, or EM385 rules. Gather hazardous condition reports as they are submitted to help determine the focus of Safety meetings. Attend monthly Safety meetings held by the SSHO. Participate in new hire training regarding safety and Janitorial Basics, when Leads or QCs are unable. Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, be efficient and timely. Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. Cross train in all areas and locations, be willing to learn new skills and tasks, and help to promote a POSITIVE working environment. Qualifications: OSHA 30 Certification preferred. (General or Construction) 1 to 3 years QC/Safety Experience preferred Experience in training and working with people with disabilities preferred. Experience with scheduling and report documentation Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to work a 40-hour work week. Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Physica
