SICK INC Field Service Technician II - Oil/Gas in Lakewood, Ohio
This is a remote position, ideally living close to a major US airport. This is a field position with 75-80% travel. This position is in our Process Automation side working off-shore, in-shore and on vessels. POSITION SUMMARY: This position has primary responsibility to support the various SICK Services and Products throughout North America. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide amazing customer service by effectively managing customer expectations. Support the various Services Organization programs. Build support structures and populate with SICK equipment. Requires the use of hand tools and basic construction knowledge. Make electrical connections of SICK equipment. Configure SICK products utilizing laptop and configuration software. Provide onsite commissioning of installed equipment following established criteria. Perform onsite start up support, monitor installed equipment for proper operation, and make adjustments as needed. Must be able to properly troubleshoot, diagnose, and replace SICK equipment. Create equipment configuration files and make changes with limited guidance. Provide outstanding technical support during normal business hours when working from office or home location. Regular attendance and timeliness. Provide accurate and timely service reports, timecards, and travel expenses. Attend required training sessions as assigned Carry out other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or required. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Two-year college degree, technical school or equivalent work experience preferred. 2 - 5 years of prior field service experience within the process automation, or similar industry preferred. Possess intermediate skills and/or knowledge that is commensurate with Gas Analyzers, Flare and/or Flow devices. Other Qualifications: This is a travel position and will require domestic travel 80% or greater. Availability to work alternative schedules including weekends, nights, and on-call hours is required. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Legally permitted to work in the United States. Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required or eligible to obtain. POSITION SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS Successfully attend and complete assigned Process Automation advanced product training courses. Complete assigned Cornerstone SICK U or Mosaic site training classes. Successfully attend and complete customer specific systems training. Provide on the job training and successfully mentored level 1 technicians. OSHA 10 minimum or OSHA 30 certification.
