Duties: To provide all dining room guests with an entertaining and enjoyable dining experience, through quality service in the most efficient manner, at all times. Be punctual, dependable, flexible and self-motivated, positive, outgoing, honest and have exceptional interpersonal, customer service, phone answering skills and teamwork skills.Greet and seat guests before the meal and take their payment after the meal. Answers questions and keep guests happy while they are in the restaurant. Ensure the customer receives the correct dishes and that they are cooked to the customers\' liking. Check on customers periodically to take additional orders or refill beverages. Be familiar with the food and drink menu and answer any questions customers may have regarding menu offerings. Be aware of foods that might be harmful to customers with specific food allergies. Be knowledgeable of what is included in each menu item and give customers an idea of how that food tastes and is presented. Ability to provide guests with information on the restaurant and all other Nautical outlets including but not limited to any specials being offered, hours of operation, number of rooms available and where the guest can check in. Lift heavy trays or objects and walk long distances over uneven terrain and steep inclines in outside conditions. Take food orders, which may be written down or memorized depending upon the size and type of restaurant. Submit orders to the kitchen electronically. Have good communication skills in order to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, cooks and other restaurant staff at all times. Take drink orders and enter them electronically to the bartender. Drinks should not be called out to the bartender. Will not go behind the bar without the permission of the manager. Ability to resolve customer complaints and know when to seek assistance from management. Discounts will not be granted to any guest without prior management approval. Responsible for clearing tables during the slow season. Servers will follow direction of supervisors and managers. Responsible for selling, upselling and suggestive selling. Never refuse a sale or a table unless it is a case of safety such as over consumption of alcohol. Be knowledgeable of and follow all Liquor laws and regulations. Follow direction of supervisors and managers. Follow all banking procedures and make accurate money drops. Be willing to work weekends and holidays. Requirements: Requires ability to interpret / extract information and / or perform arithmetic functions. May require typing, CRT, record keeping, or word processing. May have need for good communication skills. High school diploma and a minimum of one year job-related experience. Food Handler\'s card.
