Thank you for considering Ebenezer’s Summer Nurse Internship (SNI) opportunity for 2025!

Lake City Care Center is offering a paid RN student nurse internship for up to 10 weeks (end of May- Aug 9, 2025) at our growing TCU transitional care/Long term care in Lake City, Minnesota. Nurse Interns will be mentored one-on-one with a registered nurse to gain hands-on nursing experiences to improve your technical, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills with sub-acute and/or long term care patients.

Lake City Care Center (TCU/LTC) is nestled near picturesque Lake Pepin in southeast MN, not far from Red Wing, Zumbrota, Winona, and WI boarder. As part of the esteemed Mayo Clinic Health System we are managed by Ebenezer, Minnesota’s leading senior living operator with a century-long commitment to exceptional service. Our skilled nursing facility can provide care for up to 90 residents across our Transitional Care and Long-term care units, supported by a dedicated team committed to Ebenezer’s mission of fostering longer, healthier, and more meaningful lives through healing, discovery, and education.

Hiring Process & Position information:

• Position will work a minimum 64 hours/two weeks up to max of 80 hours.

• May require a weekend rotation.

• Exact shifts to be determined; typically straight days, 8 hour shifts

Responsibilities/Job Description

• Real-world experience under the guidance of RN mentors at Ebenezer Transitional Care TCU and/or Long-term care unit

• Hands-on experience in a variety of areas, including patient assessment, interventions, care planning

• May manage maintenance medications under direct supervision of RN (if location/policy allows)

• Opportunities to work with various health care professionals in a variety of roles and patient care settings

• Opportunities to increase self confidence in patient care

• Preferential status for employment as RN with MN Largest Senior living Operator, to start in our TCU or LTC upon graduation

• Opportunities to work in casual or part-time cna/resident assistant job while finishing degree

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN/BAN RN nursing program - graduating Dec 2025 or Summer/Sept 2026

• Applicants will have completed junior year and finished two nursing RN clinical rotations by start of Summer nurse internship and cannot have an active RN licensure.

• Current BLS/CPR for healthcare providers cert. by start date and remain current through August 2025.

• Able to attend required orientation days and on-site nursing orientation during their first week (typically 4-5 days likely at the end of May)

• Able to work a minimum of 64 hours in two weeks

• Able to work with a diverse population of patients and coworkers, including subacute and geriatric

• Ability to communicate effectively with empathy and kindness for others

• Desire to grow with Ebenezer and pursue a new graduate RN role with our organization

• If you accept a Summer Nurse Intern job offer, then must enroll/finish Internship course at a MN based college nursing program Summer 2024

• Minimum 3.0 GPA

• Prefer: previous experience working in a patient/resident support role
