Ebenezer Hospitality Aide in Lake City, Minnesota

Overview

We are seeking a Hospitality Aide to support our adult residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility in Lake City, MN! This role is responsible for supporting the residents, dietary and nursing staff by assisting with resident needs centered around meal service and deliver, documentation of meal and fluid intake, and other ancillary services as directed by nursing management not requiring the skills of a certified nursing assistant.

This patient support schedule includes;

  • Casual / on call

  • Day shift

  • Must pick up three shifts per month; one being a weekend shift

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Provide support services by nursing staff by:

  • Answers resident call lights and reponds if able or refers to appropriate staff member if request is for something outside of scope

  • Assist residents with filling out their meal menus

  • Passes meal trays and snacks

  • Records resident meal and snack intake

  • Fills and passes water to residents

  • Assista dietary staff in unit kitchenette with preparing of meal tray

  • May assist residents not requiring a mechanically altered diet or fluid texture at mealtimes after completing required state required paid feeding assistant training and assessment of competency by an RN

  • May be requested to assist with taking meal orders on other long-term care units in the event of illness or vacation of other hospitality aide staff

  • Clean resident wheelchairs and clean/sanitizes lift machines and vital signs towers as directed by the RN

  • Reports any noted changes in residents condition as appropriate to licensed nursing staff, reports resident grievances promptly to charge nurse or RN manager

  • Other reponsibilities:

  • Attends department meetings and in-services

  • Notifies department staff of housekeeping/maintenance of room and equipment repair needs

  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 0-1 years of experience

  • Completion of state-approved paid feeding assistant training course
