Title: HQ Business Analyst / IT Liaison

Reports To: Supervisor Business Analyst / IT Ops

Department: HQ Patient Accounting

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Purpose: A revenue cycle / IT application expert who serves as a key resource performing activities related to the design, build, implementation, and support of assigned Information Systems within the HQ Revenue Cycle. Works with HQIT and all HQ Revenue Cycle depts. to analyze and support workflow, operations and achieve best practices through facilitation of efficient, timely and accurate data capture and use. Able to works independently requiring minimal direction to deliver high quality project work as assigned daily. Seeks out solutions and brings ideas forward.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Collaboration with HQIT and Business Owners within the HQ Revenue Cycle:

a. Key contributor in the implementation and support of Information System solutions throughout Health Quest.

b. Responsible for supporting staff by achieving an understanding of business workflows, requirements, priorities, regulatory and industry standards. Develops solutions to meet those requirements.

c. Responsible for assessment and documentation of current state processes to understand potential workflow changes and learning needs.

d. Organizes and conducts various meetings with staff.

e. Meets with appropriate user department(s) monthly to review open issues.

f. Highly collaborative within the team and with other work teams to ensure that all business requirements are incorporated into the design and delivery plan of all projects.

g. Works with Revenue Cycle Leadership to develops and implement policies, procedures, and standards for use and support of the system.

  1. System Support – Break Fix/Maintenance:

a. Serves as a resource for others in support of assigned applications throughout all Health Quest sites, troubleshooting problems, and providing technical expertise.

b. Provides support for system break/fix and maintenance including documentation via InfoPoint of root cause, troubleshooting activities, testing, and resolution.

c. Provides solution expertise in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for use and support of the system as directed.

d. Adheres to Change Management Policies.

e. Maintains system documentation relevant to system design, specifications, functionality, process flows, etc. as required.

f. Resolves issues/problems within stated guidelines.

g. Works with vendor to identify system deficits and code change remediation

  1. System Support – Enhancements

a. Demonstrates expert knowledge of revenue cycle processes assigned applications keeping abreast of ongoing operational and system needs including required code upgrades

b. Continuously investigates and works with vendors to identify solutions to meet business challenges

c. Strives to keep up to date on upcoming application improvements

d. Meets with appropriate user department(s) on a routine basis to review enhancements and process improvement opportunities.

e. Assists in developing a work plans and timelines of implementations including recommendations for training needs.

f. Works with the established governance groups to bring enhancement ideas forward and demonstrate solutions to workflow problems.

g. Drives ongoing evaluation of new functionality and modules.

  1. Possesses and maintains knowledge of patient accounting regulations, business needs and related workflow and conveys the department’s information technology needs to HQIT and vendors, as needed

  2. Assumes a lead role in the, design, configuration, testing, and implementation of system modifications or upgrades including but not limited to developing clear and complete documentation outlining scope and operational impact, acting as liaison between HQIT and vendor in establishing timelines and project plans for upgrades, working with SBO management to convey resource needs, being the primary resource for testing, etc.

  3. Supports the SBO Educator to develop training content for new system installations or system upgrades.

  4. Supports the reporting needs of the SBO by designing reports, coordinating data, and/or working with HQIT with system modifications.

  5. Maintain and Model REACH Values (Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Compassion, Honor).

  6. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

  7. Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of four years recent experience in a healthcare setting, specific to hospital revenue cycle

• Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or Business Management, Industrial Technology, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution is required or equivalent work experience.

• Travel between all Health Quest sites is a requirement of the job.

• Substantial demands for visual acuity and sitting.

• Considerable demand for analyzing, perception/comprehension, judgment, complex reading and writing, memorization, and decision-making.

• It is necessary to attend vendor meetings, training and/or User Group Conferences.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

• Excellent leadership skills including interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.

• Able to deliver high quality project work as assigned daily.
