As a Nigeria Trade & Working Capital Client Solutions lead, the primary objective of the position is to originate new and support growth of Trade mandates across a portfolio of Nigeria domiciled Conglomerates and Government Related Entities. As such, the role has direct sales (of vanilla, structured and commoditized Trade products), as well as a responsibility to manage and optimize the broader sales channels to support the client across Nigeria and their presence markets
Citi Trade solutions help our clients (both old and new economy) with a diverse range of strategic objectives such as sales growth, return on asset enhancement, risk mitigation, margins and free cashflow. As such, the role involves both:
Developing deep client relationships across multiple pillars of our clients’ organizations – including Treasury, Credit Controllership, Sales, Supply Chain &Procurement, Inventory and Sustainability / Digitization.
Leveraging data to identify client objectives, pain points, performance and ultimately produce a diagnosis and recommended courses of action for consideration by clients
This position will report to the SSA Head of Trade Sales.
Key responsibilities:
Work closely with the Banking teams, cluster and Regional Trade teams, Global Solution Sales and Relationship Management to ensure cohesive origination model for Trade Solutions.
Create and execute against client plan and strategy for Trade.
Establish client relationships and become a trusted advisor via a consultative sales approach to a portfolio of clients - with core responsibility of originating Trade opportunities for the target clients both in Nigeria and the Citi network where they operate, by providing solutions to cater for both explicit and implicit needs.
Thought leadership to ideate with clients and internal teams to put forward the best value add efficient solutions to Citi clients
Bring the best of Citi to clients by establishing an exceptional internal network
Develop awareness of clients’ ecosystem and environment to up-tier & differentiate the client discussion
Deliver trade Budget through existing and new revenue streams, along with new mandates on new complex and unique deals.
Efficient Management of RWA and ROTCE at both client and deal levels.

Knowledge / experience:
Significant experience persuading, negotiating and communicating with impact externally
Business development experience, including building and maintaining a sales pipeline
Experience with Credit & a diverse range of Trade Products, including Commodity Financing, Accounts Receivable Financing, and Export Credit Agency Backed structures.
Experience in Structuring complex Trades across both Open Account and Documentary Trade for clients
Experience delivering and executing mandates through global matrix teams
Developing marketing strategies to sell the Bank’s relevant products
Has compressive knowledge of legal aspects linked to various trade instruments utilized in the market
Skills:
- Relevant experience working in the Nigeria is a must.

Qualifications:
Accounting background with good aptitude
In-depth knowledge of regulations, market practices and bank operations
Analytical and Advanced problem solving skills
A minimum of first degree or its equivalent in any discipline plus a relevant higher degree or professional qualification.
Candidates must also have a minimum of 15 years postgraduation experience, out of which at least 12 must have been in the banking industry and at least 2 as Deputy General Manager.
Evidence of experience in at least three (3) major areas of banking operations.
Masters degree will be an added advantage
