BluePearl Surgical Veterinary Assistant in Lafayette, Colorado
BluePearl Pet Hospital is looking for an experienced Surgical Veterinary Assistant at our Lafayette, CO location!
If you love helping animals, and appreciate a fast paced environment, BluePearl Lafayette would like to meet you. Our 6-doctor Emergency Service is open 7 days a week and sees a variety of cases from routine to complex emergencies. The ideal candidate's skill level should include obtaining lab samples, placing catheters, administering SQ, IM and IV injections, and maintaining equipment / instruments.
*Minimum of 2 years veterinary experience required, 5 years or more preferred.

Enjoy patient care, including receiving/delivering patient rounds
Enjoy team collaboration in order to provide excellent medical care to our patients
Enjoy fast paced, can multi-task and have attention to detail.
Have a basic understanding of orthopedic and soft tissue surgical procedures, surgical instrumentation, sterilization process, orthographic radiographs/techniques, and bandaging technique/application Embody our Core Values: Patient Care, Client Service, Collaboration, Team, Education, Kindness, and Reliability
*Job requirements also include restraining animals, cleaning kennels, and promoting outstanding customer service. Candidate should be a self-motivated, hard-working team player. Cornerstone software familiarity is a plus. This is a full-time position. Hours may vary.
Veterinary Assistant Pay: $19.35 - $28.70 / hour depending on experience and advancement through CareerTrax leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.
*Shift differentials are based on a 4 hour minimum.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday (part of ER on-call 2XMonth)
As a Sterile Supply Assistant, you will:
Prepare instruments and operating room for surgery.
Troubleshooting and removing faulty equipment from service to submit for repair or replacement.
Maintaining appropriate quantities of surgical supplies and equipment.
Decontaminating and cleaning operating rooms, sterile supply room,and equipment according to established procedures.
Cleaning and sterilizing instruments and wrapping packs
Serving as a resource/reference to surgical team with regards to surgical equipment.
