Celestica Senior HR Business Manager in Laem Chabang, Thailand

Celestica’s headquarters is in Toronto, and it has a global presence in 13 countries. We seek a strategic and dynamic Senior HR Business Partner to join our biggest global operations based in Thailand.

Summary

The HR Senior Manager, Thailand is responsible for the Operations Service Functions of our Thailand, supporting 5,000 employees.

Reporting to the HR Director - Thailand & Laos, this role is responsible for all aspects of human resources practices. This role will appeal to a hands-on HR Business Partner that excels at rolling up their sleeves and getting into everything from HR strategy to Employee Relations.

The role will be based in Laem Chabang, Si Racha District (#LI-CB1#)

Detailed Description

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the HR Director and other business leaders to conduct strategy headcount mapping and planning and identify the organisation's current and future skill needs.

  • Develop strategies for addressing skill gaps through training, development programs, or recruitment efforts. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to execute these strategies.

  • Prepare and present weekly and monthly management reports.

  • Partner with the HRD to ensure that headcount and skills development initiatives support the overall business strategy and objectives.

  • Build a strong business relationship with the business leaders, line managers, and employees of the assigned business unit/department, collaborating with business leaders to align business needs with people strategies, directions, and objectives.

  • Act as the point of contact for the business leaders, line managers, and employees of the assigned business unit/department.

  • Be visible and accessible to the business leaders and employees by attending regular management meetings and employee activities.

  • Partner with the site senior management team to implement organisational change interventions and initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, governmental regulations, and Thai laws, staying updated on legislative decisions, changes in employment laws, and regulations to limit legal exposure and liability.

  • Ensure consistent application of Site and Global policies and procedures.

  • May represent the organization in public speaking venues and/or community events.

  • 10% travel required as necessary.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least five years in a strategic HRBP role.

  • Solid experience working with HRIS Systems, such as PeopleSoft and SuccessFactors, is essential.

  • Strong Excel skills.

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is essential.

  • Working experience in the EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) sector will be advantageous.

  • Experience in a multinational company or a large entity is essential.

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and trends.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong English command.

  • Proven ability to drive change and influence at all levels of the organisation.

  • In-depth knowledge of government regulations.

  • Knowledge of Personnel and Employment laws.

  • Strong organizational development, leadership development, facilitation, internal consulting skills.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly develop insights on the global organization and leaders.

  • Extensive use of collaboration and coaching skills

  • Must be a self-starter.

  • In-depth analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.

  • Strong impact and influencing skills combined with gravitas.

  • Change management skills and experience would be a definite asset.

  • Ability to evaluate multiple highly detailed tasks, determine priorities and organize work in a manner that allows for timely completion of projects.

  • Operational experience will be advantageous.

Typical Experience

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of HR experience, with at least five years in a strategic HRBP role

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Educational requirements may vary by geography.
