The Water Resources{rel="nofollow"}* (WR) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a *Policy Support Planner (Environmental Planner 4) position. This position can be located in any of the following locations.

 

Headquarters Office in* *Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"}

Northwest Region Office (NWRO) *in Shoreline, WA{rel="nofollow"}. *Central Region Office (CRO) in Union Gap, WA{rel="nofollow"}. Eastern Region Office (ERO) in Spokane, WA{rel="nofollow"}.

 

Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

Please Note: If the final location of this position is determined to be in our Northwest Region Office (NWRO) in Shoreline, WA{target="_blank" rel="noopener"}. there will be an additional 5% pay increase due to its location in King County. In this instance the salary range will be $6,195 - $8,328 per month.  In this position, you will support the program's mission by guiding the development of several critical, complex, and controversial planning functions. You will direct the development of policy issues, rules, and conduct research necessary to fulfill legislative requests on a variety of high-profile water resource issues. You will also function as the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) lead for the program on large and complex water right decisions, new and amended rules, and for complex projects requiring SEPA analysis. In doing these functions, you will manage contractors and consultants hired to take on portions of the work required. You will collaborate and engage with Tribes and other interested partners, including irrigators, utilities, local governments, and environmental groups.
