Stahmanns Inc, Desert Grove Maintenance Technician III in La Mesa, New Mexico
Position Scope/Summary Responsible for maintaining the sorting plant in optimal conditions before and during harvest season. Manages and execute preventative maintenance tasks, provides support for various projects, and ensures a sufficient inventory of spare parts for continuous operation. During off-season, the maintenance technician may assist with projects or staffing needs in the shelling plant or the farm shop.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Maintain and repair sorting plant equipment during and off season. Provide and execute continuous improvement projects. Maintain a spare parts inventory for the sorting plant Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Occasionally lift more than 50lbs. Wear all safety equipment provided Calibrate and maintain equipment Tear down and rebuild equipment Troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical, Pneumatics etc. equipment problems Repair equipment when assigned Inform Maintenance Supervisor of problems or malfunctions with equipment Always follow safe operating procedures Other routine duties as assigned Enter work orders and job performed in the CMMS Skills and Knowledge: Need to be at least 18 years old and able to perform physical labor Experience operating industrial machines Experience driving forklifts Experience in troubleshooting, Mechanical, Electrical and pneumatics Basic knowledge of Industrial Equipment Basic knowledge of electricity 120/230/480V Basic math and measuring skills Welding skills Other Skills for this career may be learned at work Must Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Required High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills Must be able to multi-task and follow-up when responses are needed Minimum 5 years Industrial maintenance experience required Basic mathematical skills Experience in high volume manufacturing or in the food industry preferred Will work near and around moving mechanical parts Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time Must be able to see alpha/numbers on computer screen/ paperwork While performing the duties of this job, the technician is regularly required to see, talk and hear. Must be able to pull, squat, kneel, climb and/or balance Must be able to reach with hands and arms Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs Must be able to work extra hours if need it Welding experience required
Reporting Relationship: Provides assistance, receives direction and reports directly to Maintenance Team Leader. Must be able, to work with all employees in the shelling plant.
