John Asdell with Robert Half is partnered with a well-respected La Jolla based public accounting firm that is seeking a Tax Manager. The firm specialized in small to midsize business tax planning and compliance, along with the corresponding tax planning and compliance for the business owners. The firm has been serving the local business community for 30 years and offers a close family culture with long-term stability. In addition to a strong overall compensation package, the firm offers reasonable busy season hours as well as a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities:
Leading and managing multiple tax assignments and projects tailored to small and mid-sized businesses and high net worth individuals.
Supervising and mentoring a team of tax professionals, ensuring exceptional standards and meeting deadlines.
Advising clients on tax-related issues, offering innovative tax planning and compliance expertise.
Ensuring client compliance with all federal, state and local tax laws.
Proactively interacting with clients to gather information, resolve tax-related issues, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.
Identifying and mitigating tax risks.
Maintaining tax balances on the general ledger.
Assisting in tax audits.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Tax Manager or Public Accountant catering to small and mid-sized businesses and high net worth individuals.
