Lenoir County Recycling Site-Attendant (Part-time) in La Grange, North Carolina

As a member of the Lenoir County Solid Waste Department, you can make a difference! The Solid Waste Department is seeking candidates for part-time Recycling Site Attendants. Candidates are responsible for ensuring proper procedures of Solid Waste disposal at recycling sites are followed. Employees must respond to a variety of questions posed by users of the facility and the public at large. In cases of disaster, either natural or man-made, an employee may be called upon to serve the citizens of Lenoir County. Candidates for employment must be comfortable with manual work and heavy lifting may also be necessary. Employees in this classification may be exposed to human bodily fluids and is subject to the OSHA standards on bloodborne pathogen.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and performing repetitive motions. Must be able to perform exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently to move objects. The employee is subject to working in outside environments, extreme temperatures and weather.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from High School. Experience in solid waste convenient sites equipment operation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid North Carolina drivers license is required.
